I've grown accustomed to using Command-F to pull up the search dialog in the Library.
By now it seems to sometimes take LR full screen, and sometimes pulls up the search dialog.
Also, when it takes LR full screen, if I Command-F again (to exit fill screen) my Mac's title bar...
I just upgraded my LR to CC 2015.2.1, didn't realize there was going to be such an odd change to one of the most important parts of managing my photos, so wanted to ask...
1) Import now opens with some sort of goofy "select a source screen" -- from which I have to then select my SD card --...
My catalog file is getting a bit unwieldy, and I'd like to archive some photos to a file server on my LAN.
I've never used 'Export as Catalog...' so I'm hoping to explain how I believe I should use it, and somebody here might tell me if I have the right idea.
1) Select the...
I have one big Lightroom catalog: family photos, "semi professional" photos, stills for time-lapses, etc.
I think I need to move some of the photos from my big catalog (which is on my local drive) -- to a new catalog that I would archive to a drive on my network.
Hi all, been using 'perpetual' Lightroom for several years, just switched to CC as of LR6.
Do I actually need to leave Creative Cloud manager running all the time (and to launch on startup)?
I disabled launch on startup, quit the CC manager, and rebooted -- and my LR CC and PS CC still...
Let's say I add a radial adjustment, and adjust the settings.
Now let's say I want to add a second radial adjustment with the same settings -- is there a way to copy/paste settings from one adjustment to another?
This just keeps sticking in my craw.
What's the logic of offering the Photo plan with both PS and LR for $10/month, and also offer a PS-only plan for $20/month?
Does anybody get the PS only plan?
This arrangement leaves me wondering how committed Adobe can be to those two plans.
I'm using LR5 'perpetual' now, but I'm considering switching to the CC Photo plan.
Just wondering if there's anything I should know in advance so as not to screw something up.
I'll at least make a copy of my catalog before I run LR6 CC.
But anything in addition to that?
I know it may be pointless to ask, but perhaps somebody can help nudge my indecision.
I'm using LR5 as a standalone app.
I'd like to start using LR6, but can't quite decide whether to switch to LR6 CC (via the photo bundle) or stick with standalone.
I recently purchased...
Hi all, I'm starting to experiment with combining several exposures to make one final exposure.
It might be a bracketed set in an HDR type scenario. Or it may be a series of nighttime long exposures, all stacked together to get star trails.
Given the talk about the not-yet-released...
My printer spec reads: "Maximum Print Resolution: 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi"
In Lightroom's Print module, down under Print Job, resolution was set to 240ppi.
So would that mean LR is actually throttling the print detail?
I tried raising the LR Print Job resolution, and the...
I'm using a photo printer (Epson XP-620) for the first time, printing to 4x6 paper.
In LR's Photo module, I set Page Setup to "4x6 borderless" (there is also an option labeled "4x6" which I didn't select), and I set Photo Border to 0.
If I print now, about 1/4" of my image's...
I'm not proud to say it, but I seem too dumb to print a 4x6 from Lightroom (Mac) -- to my printer with 4x6 paper loaded into the tray.
I finally gave up and exported a JPG, opened that into Preview, and printed from there. (which was easy.)
Only hitch: it seems to have cut off about 1/4"...
Hi all, I've been using Lightroom for a few years, but I'm totally new to OSX.
Hope you don't mind a few questions...
1) I gather Lightroom doesn't support the 'full-screen' mode? I don't mean Lightroom's full screen mode, but rather the OSX mode that hides the menubar and Dock.
I'm preparing to switch from Win to Mac -- I read Victoria's FAQ:
And I have one question...
I keep some recent photos on...
Hi all, I'm considering getting something like the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus, with 3,200 x 1,800 display.
I've read that some Adobe applications don't scale well on high-res displays, and the interface winds up tiny.
I spend a lot of time in Lightroom, and so I'm curious if LR works well on...
I just started shooting with a mounted manual lens on my Sony NEX -- so the lens type EXIF doesn't make it into my RAW files.
I had assumed I would be able to click on the lens type in Lightroom to edit that (it shows "----"), but I can't.
Is there a simple trick for this...
Hi all, I've never used flags before, so perhaps I'm doing something dumb.
When I have one photo selected, and if I then hit P or X or U (to pick, reject, or unflag) -- it assigns that flag to the selected image, and ALSO to the next (and not selected) image.
If I have more than one photo...
Hi all, I think this is pretty consistent...
If I crop a vertical image, and then rotate that crop by 90 degrees by dragging a corner (to get a horizontally cropped region).
If I remain in Develop, navigate to another image, and then back to the cropped image, the crop is reset.
Hi all, I've been spending a bit more time in LR5, and had an odd experience.
I was flipping through photos in my catalog, and every once in a while one of them wouldn't display with the Develop settings I had applied.
If I then went to the History list, and selected the second from top...
Is there some way to see the full canvas if you use LR5's automatic crop?
When I use the new tool, sometimes I see the "white corners" (of a distorted image that needs crop correction) -- in this case I can use the regular Crop tool.
But sometimes I don't see the white corners...
I recently installed the LR5 trial, but I'm not quite sure I'm ready to make the switch -- there are several pesky little annoyances that make it hard for me to decide.
When I installed LR5, it copied my LR4 catalog. It also deleted all the LR4 previews, which seemed a bit odd...
Sometimes LR5's Spot Removal will pick an area outside my crop to map into the area I'm trying to fix.
Is there some easy way to see that area so that I can move it?
As it is now, it seems like I have to copy my crop, reset the crop, move it, and paste the crop back in -- seems...
