Is there any way to filter photos on import? I often get handed a full photo session of thousands of images of which I only need to adjust some of them that have already been rated in Bridge. I know that this probably isn't a common case, but it would save me a couple of extra steps before I get...
I was having the same problem. Deselecting “Include Develop settings in metadata inside JPEG, TIFF, and PSD files” in the Catalog Settings seems to fix it.
Yes, the files are imported into a catalog from an external drive. It's about 25GB worth of files.
They are relatively large files and a lot of them, so maybe things are going as well as they can. It just seems that the cpu could be working 2-3 times as hard and still have headroom for other...
They are 5DmkII files that are imported in place from a FW8'' external drive. I don't know the speed of the drive, but I'm guessing that it's 54''RPM. The catalog and cache(12GB) are on my system drive which is 72''RPM. The files are being rendered for the first time after import. I'm looking at...
Is it unreasonable for me to think that taking 2'+ minutes to render 97' standard previews is too long? Is there any way to speed it up? Lr is using a fraction of my computer's power to render previews.
I figured that if I hadn't found it by now it probably doesn't exist, but I haven't thought about looking for it before today. I know some apps like Capture One put a badge on processed images, but it's pretty limited and not really like a log of what you've done.
I've been posting them to Flickr. From there I use MarsEdit to put them into posts, but you can also post directly from Flickr. I can't remember why I'm not using LR2/Blog. I'll have to look at it again.
I just put the files in my Sites folder and accessed them through the http://localhost/~username url with no problems.
You might get info on your htdocs folder and make sure that you have read/write access. That's about all that I can think of.
I never could get MAMP working properly, but I'm no expert on such things. XAMPP worked without a hitch though. You might give it a look.

I've found that it happens a lot(though not all the time) when I accidentally use the Photoshop key combinations for zooming when an adjustment tool is active. Sometimes pressing the space bar snaps it back out of zoom mode. sometimes I just have to restart.
I see this a lot and was just going to make a post about it. There was some way to get out of it that I had figured out once, but I can't remember what it was(same as Sean). I usually get frustrated, curse a lot, and just restart.
I've also seen it happen with the TATs.
I think that the best use of it would be to non destructively apply filters such as Nik's Viveza or noise removal plugs. If you use the LR versions of the Nik plugs and change your mind you have to start over and create a new file to reapply the plugin.
Besides that, I haven't found opening...
I was actually hoping to do this from the Print module, but I figured that I was just dreaming. I have to make 4up prints of hundreds of files from a casting. I keep having to jump back and forth between the print module and the the grid view in the library to mark what has been dealt with.
The last Monet exhibit that I saw was 2' pictures of the same bridge. My art teacher was all excited about it, but I found the Lucas Samaras exhibit that was in the same building much more interesting.
When I finish this job I can get more into experimenting with it. I don't want to risk...
Yes. The right image is of folder #1. That's the folder that is having issues. I just put up the middle pic of the filter bar in #2 to show that it is working properly. The filter bar in #1 should look similar to that one, but it doesn't.
Thanks for thinking about it and enjoy the exhibition.
It's not a crisis. I was done with those files anyway. I wouldn't even have noticed if I hadn't needed to copy settings from one of the files. Things like this just make me nervous about it happening again at a more inopportune time.
That's correct.
It sounds like a filter thing to me too, but I've set the filters to LR's Filters Off setting. I also tried setting the filters to just show raw files, and nothing showed up. The folder count is accurate to having the raw files in the folder.
I have all of the filters off, and all of the stacks are expanded.
LR recognizes that the files are in the catalog, because it says so when I try to reimport them. It's just not showing them.
