HELP - Recreating Classic Folder Structure As Albums After Migrating

Hi Victoria, Johan and myself were assisting (I think) the same user on the U2U forums, and were discussing Collections Sets migrating. As I was unsure of any change, and without clarification in the official docs I believe, found your page that said: Color labels become keywords. Virtual...

Deleting photos on mobile device without removing elsewhere

I would guess because you are only clearing the cache data in the LrM App on the Phone, not on the server? As long it upload is completed, the workflow seems correct.. additionally keeping them on SD is another back up.

    Adobe, security and backup

Hi Phil.....Maybe the code was too old for the kind of cloud interaction they wanted and new code had to be written. At the same time deciding to extend it to a larger market. Maybe LrCC v1.0 could be the first stage in this highly configurable product, optioned product? Of course, it's all...

    Adobe, security and backup

I'd disagree somewhat Soren. In my case, as 40+ year old (:(), having three young children, I neither have the will, nor the time to use Lightroom Classic and external drives. Ok, I'm only a hobbyist but the Cloud suits me - I like having access to all my Library. Luckily, from a Cloud...

Lightroom Mobile workflow seems convoluted - am I doing it wrong?

Hi. I put this on a thread below and may apply if after John's guidance, LrM is till taking up too much space. As long as all photos are synced to the Cloud, you shouldn't have to delete them from LrM to save space. If you select Clear Cache in Lightroom Photos on the iPad (or whatever it's...

Performance on 9.7 Pro, Pencil and few Questions on Smart Previews

Hi, I don't know if this has already been mentioned but in regards to C) as long as all photos are synced to the Cloud, you shouldn't have to delete them from the device to save space. If you select Clear Cache in Lightroom Photos on the iPad (or whatever it's called at the top of Collections)...

    lightroom mobile sync

Yes, Adobe say it isn't a backup solution (although I use it as that.... plus my photos are also on an offline hd). Hopefully it will be though, as when Adobe Revel (their old backup solution) closed they said, in the departure email, that Cloud Storage will be coming to Lightroom. That was...

    can I sync two catalogs?

Coming from an Adobe Revel background (pretty much LR Mobile's predecessor), in there you could have multiple Collaborative Libraries, so Adobe have a similar Cloud Based technology and have used it. How this would work with LR Desktop is the hard bit I imagine.

How to restrict upload from mobile

Hi, if you want to cull in LrM then unfortunately as soon as photos are in the App, given an Internet connection, they will upload to the server. The only way at the moment is to turn data and wifi off I guess. Then back on after you have deleted the ones you don't want. There is a request on...

Deleting photos on mobile device without removing elsewhere

Yes, makes sense Jim. Surely Adobe should recommend regularly clearing the cache, especially after the importing and successful upload the cloud of RAW files. I guess it knows that a file is uploaded and that it can get rid? I assumed it would do this (self) optimisation automatically and...

Deleting photos on mobile device without removing elsewhere

Hi, First real post.... This is the only thing I have found previously, it's so well hid that it took me 10 mins to find again! Get started with Lightroom for mobile app on iOS Btw Jim, I thought Enable Offline Editing downloads the Full Res (if it exists in the Cloud) to your device, but...

    Evening from a London newbie!

Hi Tony, thanks! It's okay, the comment about my photography technique wasn't the reason why I signed up, although I'm sure I will learn things, nevertheless. I'm quite interested in the technicals of how Adobe are going to integrate a Cloud workflow (when Revel closed they said in the blurb...

    Evening from a London newbie!

Evening, my name's Reed and I am a very amateur family photographer with a background in imagery. Being an ex-Adobe Revel customer (online sync storage with Mac and iOS Apps - for those who it passed by) I come to Lightroom from the Cloud side of things (the Photography plan was Adobe's...
