For anyone else with this problem, the solution was indeed to resurrect the old catalogue, ie:
Launch the most recent backup catalogue in which the publish service(s) plugins are present and connected as desired.
Import your current catalogue into this catalogue (ie merge catalogues).
Thanks both for your help.
I'm going to have another go contacting Adobe now - fingers crossed. I suspect the Adobe Stock 'specialist' will not be a Lightroom specialist, but fingers crossed.
I'll investigate the third party Flickr plugin too - thanks. I think I'll try and solve Stock first...
I recently (with the 'help' of Adobe) had to re-create my catalogue to fix a syncing issue.
Syncing is working fine now, however...
The Adobe help person did not bother checking that I had both Adobe Stock (contributor) and Flickr publish services connected.
I now wish to resume using these...
Replying to my own query, as it might help others.
I spent about two hours screen sharing with two different Adobe helpdesk people. Neither of them could figure out what the problem was.
The first one tried to convince me that as long as there were missing photos in my catalogue, my LR mobile...
I know there have been other threads about this issue, but everyone seems to have a slightly different experience.
I'd had problems with the Android app itself, but now (on a new phone) that seems to be sorted.
Any photos/collections in my desktop catalogue which I choose to sync with...
Solved - I think.
I think in the last Android update the file storage location changed, and that (and perhaps the update itself) for whatever reason stopped LR from seeing the photos taken in the app. Photos imported from the usual native camera app storage location seemed immune to the glitch...
I cleared the cache on the Android app.
I then discovered that it was saving to the internal storage, not the SD card. (I never changed that; not sure what happened there.) I changed it back.
Photos still 'blank' and today's photos still missing on mobile and LrWeb.
There are 7 synced...
I did a big clean-up of my synced photos and had problems there - but I can deal with hose.
What is more worrying is that I took 5 photos using the LR camera today. They took at least 5 minutes to appear in the LR mobile library. When they did, I shared one on WhatsApp. I went back in to browse...
Update: the photo I took today using the phone camera synced, but yesterday's one using the Lightroom camera is still AWOL.
I've tested with a couple more and it looks like it's only photos taken with the Lightroom camera which are not syncing to desktop (ironic).
The two most recent photos in my Android app will not sync with desktop.
They are visible on both the app and the 'web library' (lightroom.adobe.com)
There are no sync errors showing for them. I've paused and re-started syncing on desktop a number of times.
LrC created a folder for the one I...
I finally got it all cleared out.
I decided to delete the CC files from the website, but doing it from the mobile app would have achieved the same end.
There were quite a few files on mobile which LR decided I wanted to upload to CC, so I had to wait for that to finish. These were...
Hi John, and thanks so much for your further reply
This is turning into a tiresome saga, for which I apologise!
* I logged on to the Creative Cloud web storage area. There was nothing in any folder including deleted items
* I downloaded and have started the Lightroom Downloader. It tells me...
Apologies - I tried to delete the above message but it was too late.
I've restored the backup catalogue from last week so all good.
I've also signed out of LR mobile and taken a deep breath. I'm thinking of deleting and reinstalling the mobile app and just starting over. Seems sensible!
I had turned off syncing on ALL Collections over a week ago.
I opened LR Classic just now. All the Collections which were previously had been synced are shown as syncing again (the arrow symbol) and are empty!!
The photos are still there in the catalogue - just empty Collections...
No, I am 100% sure that everything is on LR Classic on my laptop.
So it sounds like you have a "Deleted" folder in Lightroom CC on your phone - yes. Since my last message 129 photos appeared there. I deleted them.
On Lr Classic is the "All Synced Photographs" now zero? -...
Thanks so much for the very detailed post. It's extremely useful and I will flag for future reference.
The good thing is that there's nothing in the CC that is not on my hard drive - so I won't lose anything, as far as I know! And I am an assiduous backer-upper.
However, going to...
For a couple of months I seem to have become 'stuck' with both Classic and Android app telling me I have used 21GB+ of my 20GB storage.
I've unticked every folder in Classic to unsync everything, but it hasn't changed anything, so reading another thread here went to 'All Synced Photographs' and...
Interesting. I can only imagine what a 'translated.txt hack' is... not something I've heard of or used.
I'll try a few options and see what's the easiest workaround. I think if I keep on top of imports and keep my phone tidy (this is not my 'serious' photography!) it'll be okay to manage as is...
Update: I've tested with a file, and it works... So brilliant... Not sure how I missed this before!
BUT of course I have it in a 'DD' folder rather than a 'YYYY-MM-DD' folder (within the YYYY/MM folder) as per every other folder. Not sure what to do now??
Many thanks for any...
I can see the 'Use subfolders formatted by capture date' which looks promising... but two questions:
Are these folders created in the main catalog, or in the mobile catalog? (Thought I'd ask rather than try it out... sorry!)
More importantly, I cannot see my format there...
When importing images from an SD card or similar source, I'm fine with how Lightroom creates appropriate dated folders at time of import. That's all working smoothly for me.
But when I import from Mobile (ie moving photos from my 'Samsung XXX' / Imported Photos' folder (photos taken...
