Library module Very slow loading of image thumbnails in Library

Hello Clee. Thanks for the info. I think that’s exactly what happened. I've looked at the LR preview file as see it’s about 250mg. Yet, my "old" preview file from the previous LR version is above 3Gb It seems to me that LR is only building the previews for the pictures when I have the...

Library module Very slow loading of image thumbnails in Library

Hello Paul, I haven't done anything proactive to "build" previews aside from the regular setting which is on when import the pictures in. Is there anything else that I must do proactively with this new catalogue ?

Library module Very slow loading of image thumbnails in Library

I've closed LRC and re opened. I noticed the Thumbnails which had already loaded in the first time where showing directly. Perhaps the process is due to the fact the LR is re-creating thumbnails?

Library module Very slow loading of image thumbnails in Library

I used to run an older version of Lightroom (V 8.4) on Mac OS Sierra. I've recently updated my OS to Mojave and was able to then update to the latest Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. I've only opened LRC a couple times since. I've noticed today that the image thumbnails in the Library are very...

Develop module Full screen of picture

Hello. Well for some reason the problem seems to be fixed. Now the behaviour does not happen anymore and LR does indeed full screen the images correctly. Wired.

Develop module Full screen of picture

Hey, yeah it makes sense. All my pictures have higher resolutions than the actual screen resolution so that was not the actual problem.

Develop module Full screen of picture

The screenshot is from the Application Preview, native to OSX not from Lightroom. Lightroom did not have this behaviour when I put a portrait picture in full screen. The image had black all around it and occupied 30% of the screen only.

Develop module Full screen of picture

No, all Lightroom has to do is like in Preview... Take the longest side of the picture and display that length entirely without crop. Let the rest follow with the same ratio and back around it.

Develop module Full screen of picture

Hey, the screen is at 2880 x 1800 but most of the pictures I'm handling are roughly around 3500x2500.

Develop module Full screen of picture

Hello, I'm struggling with something basic even though I've been using LR for a few years now. I believe Adobe made a changse in one of the updates which screw up this basic function. I'm on LR 8.4.1 Fullscreen an image, the shortcut is F. When I press F, to me this is not an image in Full...

Writing EXIF description in LR ?

Hello, Yep. I'm currently using LensTagger as a LR plugin for my workflow when importing analog scans. Indeed, I saw when using the plugin that a lot of LensTagger fields get written in the UserComment field. With this, I would say LensTagger real added value seems it's writting stuff in the...

Writing EXIF description in LR ?

Hey. If Description = Caption, then it means that either the LensTagger plug is also writing IPTC metadata not only EXIT or that Lightroom is doing some trick. I don't usually set the time when the picture was shot because it is too hard to track when 36 exposure which I sometimes shoot on 3...

Writing EXIF description in LR ?

Hello there, I shoot analog photography so I need to write EXIF metadata to my scan files. I've been doing so with two external software AnalogExif an LensTager. They all have their pro's and cons... I'm still in search for my ideal workflow... I've been told it's possible in LR to write a...

Library module Edit EXIF camera model ?

Hey John, So I tried but unfortunately it doesn't copy all the EXIF metadata. In the copy metadata window, I get the "Camera info" section was shown in the screenshot. In the User Comment filed, there is all the info about Film stock name, IS0 and processing lab. In the screenshot, the User...

Library module Edit EXIF camera model ?

Hey there. I created the virtual copy way before changing the metadata the other day. I use VC's when I want to try alternative color grading or cropping. If I copy the Metadata to the VC, won't that mess up my color work on the VC ? Thanks,

Library module Edit EXIF camera model ?

Hey there. Yep, I know a Virtual Copy is not a actual file on the hard drive. So I just made a test exporting a Virtual Copy to see what happens with the EXIF data. And the answer is no, the new exported file does not show the Exif data from the original file. You can see on the screenshot...

Library module Keywords & Smart collections

Hello Jim, Thank you for this explanation. I did not know about the Keyword huerarchy rule. However this does explain why some images are included in "houses". For example. These 3 images yet they are included in the Smart collection houses with the settings I screenshoted in my first...

Library module Edit EXIF camera model ?

Ahh nope, I have no email from you. I investigated further. The issue seems to be touching more particularly images that are Virtual Copies in LR. For example, I've got this image. I just wrote EXIF data on it with my other software AnalogExif. Here is the Virtual Copy metadata But here is...

Library module Edit EXIF camera model ?

John, are you the one who developed this software ? You write as if you are the developer. I understand your technical explanations - I come from a video production background and have done lots of video editing professionnally - What I'm trying to communicated is that on my end it’s not...
