I want to add some home movies to my Lightroom (Cloudy) but saw somewhere (can't find now) that the largest individual file size that be uploaded is 5GB.

Is that true and still the case? My largest is 12GB

Thanks

Found the thread where I saw the 5GB limit. The thread is seven years old.

I didn't like the sound of "If you attempt to upload anything larger, you can see some unexpected errors." so I split the 12GB movie into parts to be under the limit.

I can’t find a defined limit. The 5GB sounds like a good limit. The reason for smaller video files is that you are more likely to get unexpected results when importing to the cloud.

Lightroom (and Lightroom Classic are not really designed for video and I see no benefit from adding videos to Lightroom and the Adobe Cloud. You can not use the Develop module on Video files in Lightroom, only the Library. I would find another way to organize and manage videos.

Thanks. For the past few years I have indeed kept home video in a separate system, but wanted to unify all my personal photos and home video into a single system , which seems to have worked well now I have done it. This is Lightroom (not Classic) and editing video is not an issue.

It was slightly more complicated than that because since 2015, the only video is iPhone clips which naturally found their way into Lightroom via auto import from Camera Roll. So the recent project has been to bring in the pre 2015 video, which includes some longer converted cine.

I should have added a major motivation was that in addition to unifying the family photos and videos into one place, it also enables everything to be seen on all family devices, which my previous setup for the pre 2015 videos did not.
