I'd like to create smart collections for a specified number of keywords, listed together or separately in the keywords area. The smart collection is only for the current Collection Set, not globally, but I can't make it work. It will find 'esoteric' & 'minimalist' if they are together in the keyword field, but not also if one of the keywords exist only attached to an image.

I set a date range as that was the only shoot during the three days

I tried variations of single keywords on separate lines or together in the one field, separated by spaces or commas

I used the ALL match for the fields - though for the keywords I'm looking for any or both

For example:

All

Date range is 2021-04-12 to 2021-04-15

Keywords contains: esoteric, minimalist

The date range dictates the need to use the all function.

Is there another method that may work?

You are using ‘all’ and then two keywords in one criterion, so that means you will only find images with both keywords. What you should do after you added the criterion for date, is hold the option/alt key when you click on the plus icon to add a second criterion. That will give you the option to add two criteria for keywords; one or the other.

I initially had the keywords in separate criteria but the result was the same - but what you suggested worked. I had no idea there was that other option. "Any of the following are true" was the criteria that worked. Thanks.

Yeah, this is part of a deal that people like Victoria and me struck with Adobe. The deal is that they'll add powerful features to Lightroom Classic, only to hide them behind obscure keyboard combinations so nobody can find them. Then we can sell our books that reveal these features. :p
