LR Classic has lost Heal/Clone functionality - help!

A fortnight ago my LR Classic, after the second last 8.2 update, lost the Close/Heal button functionality after years of satisfactory performance.
I click on the button, the locator dot registers on image for heal, and LR presents the dashed line to select where to clone from, but when I click return button nothing happens. Same with close or heal.
Same just with LR 8.3.1.
What gives? Any help please?

All sorted thanks to reviewing the forum. I'd inadvertently adjusted opacity to zero along with tmy adjustment of feather to zero on a prticular image adjustment, which of course killed the tool. Opacity up, tool working
