When I set the ratio and lock it I expect it to stay locked. But when I move to another image the lock opens and switches to the ratio of the selected image.
How do I force my ratio I set to stay locked on that ratio?

Select the crop tool, and close the lock before you make any changes.

When I selected the crop tool the Aspect was set to "original" and the lock icon was "locked".

At that point I changed the aspect, which did not change the status of the lock icon.

I cropped the image and the crop tool closed.

I moved to the next image, opened the crop tool and the lock icon was still "locked" but Aspect had returned to "Original".

How do I "lock" an Aspect so that it does not change when I move from image to image?

That's expected behavior - you say he lock icon was locked, therefore the Aspect will remain on the aspect of the image just selected (so Original) - what are you expecting it to do? Perhaps we're not understanding the question?

The crop tool's aspect ratio on a new image always starts at "Original" (as far as I know). The lock icon only controls whether or not the aspect ratio is allowed to change as you drag the sides of the crop tool; it doesn't "save" the aspect ratio for use on other images.

Ok, looks like there is no way to lock in a "custom" ratio and use it with all the images in my set is just not possible. Thanks.

Try setting the locked custom ratio you want on one image, and then sync it to the other images. Then, when you go back to the synced images with the crop tool, you just have to adjust the placement (and maybe the size) of the crop.

Great suggestion! Thanks, I will do that.
