LR CC in Windows, sharing with Mac

Thank you for your comments....a bit to digest. Because of this I may be swaying back to an Apple Pro, just so easy to "work between the two".

LR CC in Windows, sharing with Mac

I'm just on the edge of purchasing a powerful Windows 10 computer. BUT....I currently do most of my work on an iMac...the LR is downloaded onto this, but all the photos it accesses are saved on an external hard drive. Occasionally, when I travel, I take my laptop with and use the same EHD. My...

Moving Photos from iPhoto 8.1.2 into LR CC

Thanks Victoria for your suggestions. Obviously a bit difficult for me to "plan" structures when I have not really used the system in great detail yet. I did consider whether to put Modified/ Original in the label or caption, but not sure if this is a good idea or not. I'm a bit worried about...

Moving Photos from iPhoto 8.1.2 into LR CC

The next installment - this procedure has driven me insane, but I think I have cracked a way to import my 30+k photos into LR, keeping the album structure from iPhoto, but also keeping the edits I have already done on many photographs. My situation is I have iPhoto 8.1.2 on a Mac which is...

Moving Photos from iPhoto 8.1.2 into LR CC

I am doing this backwards, I will post info after these questions as this is really tricky iPhoto stuff, and you need to understand the older version of iPhoto- 8.1.2. I have found a way to import iPhoto 8.1.2 into LR CC keeping edits and "Event structure" of iPhoto if this helps anyone. I have...

New installation/ change main computer later

Hello. New on LR. Just had 7 days free trial of LRCC photography plan and looking to buy CC version. I have two macs - a laptop and iMac. Big problems migrating from iPhoto 8.2.4 so initially want to use on laptop (where have El Capitan) to test procedure for my iMac (which stores my main...

Gradually moving photos from iPhoto '09 (8.1.2) into Lightroom 5.7.1

Not knowing too much about this....just assuming if I have a large bank of pics on one "cloud based" storage, if push comes to shove, will be easier to migrate it from Flickr to a new home, even if I have to pay for storage then....to be considered.

Gradually moving photos from iPhoto '09 (8.1.2) into Lightroom 5.7.1

Sorry for delay. Thank you kindly for your reply - what a nightmare, I'm in the same boat. Have started transferring photos to Flickr as another back up if all goes belly up - 15,000 done, about 10K to go....Good luck. Let me know if you get any particular good tips for this process. Regards...

iPhotos/ Photos and Mac OSX upgrade issues

Thank you Rob for the time to answer my impossible question....- I've got a lot of work to do in not much time. I haven't bought any version of LR yet so still deciding which one to go for. I did seem to remember should not import to Photos which is why have held off. Re: back up copy on air -...
