Hi everyone, I'm pretty sure I saw a workaround published when the change to the webapp came out, but I can't find it anymore. How can I easily drill down to see all photos taken in january 2006, for example, on the iPhone app?
Thanks a lot!
Celebration :D – the rebuild sync data finished rebuilding during the night, and LrC now shows all synced (for real) and my last RAW photos from my Indian vacation have reached my phone!
I had been afraid to do Rebuild Sync Data because I didn't know how long it would immobilise my computer...
Another update (maybe this will be helpful to somebody someday). Upon closer inspection, the global count of images to sync is slowly going down.
I found this comment in a thread that might explain what is going on...
Out of desperation I hit the Rebuild Sync Data button. I was very hopeful initially: my recent photos in the Cloud started downloading to LrC. I left the computer alone for a few hours (115k synced photos, remember) and when I returned, I ran into memory problems on my mac and had to force-quit...
Seems resetting my preferences file worked. Until at some point it didn't (I'd opened another catalog in between, maybe the cause?). Seems to be working now, but we'll see what time says.
I am not sure you really can do only one-way. Meaning, the photos from LrC that you synced to the cloud are now available in the cloud. If ever you did edit them through the web or mobile interface, those changes would sync back to LrC.
It's normal that only the smart previews sync from LrC...
Have tried resetting the prefs file, but doesn't seem to change much. Going to let LrC running for a bit to see if it works it out, but I suspect I'm going to need fresh troubleshooting ideas here... :-/
Well, I'm home, all plugged in, no more missing photos, and sync is still stuck. Going to leave it on and alone for a bit to see if it gets unstuck, but if it doesn't I'll try the prefs file reset.
Exactly, I’m sure that is how it behaved before!
I will definitely file a bug report once I confirm that making the missing source photos available again « unsticks » things.
And thanks a lot for the workaround with the collections, it’s smart!
