I'm afraid I do: a different folder for each day. They were originally organised within months, but for some reason I don't understand that higher level of the hierarchy wasn't transferred over. Obviously I did something wrong there. Anyway, thanks for clarifying - I will just have to manually...
The trouble is there is no option to right click on the missing drive. I can only right click on the folders within it, and there are more than a 100 of those. It doesn't seem possible to relink an entire drive to its new location.
But how? The folders aren't in the LR catalog list (on the left side). They're on my hard drive, but they haven't shown up in the LR catalog list. Yet all the photos are visible in the library module. If I try and drag the folders into LR they come across as an entirely new import, without the...
I've tried to import a catalog from my laptop into my master LR catalog on my desktop, but it hasn't gone according to plan. The laptop catalog has imported in to the master catalog fine, but all the photos were on a portable drive, and the catalog on my desktop is still linked to this drive. I...
Thanks, but my situation isn't quite covered by any of the options in that article. Basically I originally imported the files into the catalog from the wrong location, namely my backup drive rather than my main drive. I can get the photos back in LR easily enough by plugging in the backup drive...
I've been trying to sort out the missing photos in my LR6 catalog, and I've discovered that in some cases I've linked the photos to my backup hard drive. In other words the pathway and name is exactly as the main drive, except that the location is the backup drive. Is there an easy way to link...
Thanks v much for getting back to me.
The folders are listed as missing under the heading of the old drive, but the new drive is only showing the one sub folder I relinked to manually by clicking on the photo and choosing the "locate" option. All the folders are still listed under the old drive...

I've shifted my photos from a failing hard drive to a new hard drive. When I try to update the folder location as per this post How do I move only my photos to another hard drive, leaving the catalog where it...
Yes, but I want my own folder structure, not LR's, because I want to access my files from other programmes. And also because I have my own folder structure, developed over many years, before LR even existed.
OK, I think I get it. I'm trying to import from a folder on a hard drive just after using Image Capture to import the images, but the memory card is still attached, and whilst that's the case, it automatically selects the memory card as the source.
So now I see I can choose a source which...
Hi all,
I've upgraded to version 3, and just discovered that when I import, rather than importing files in their current location (as I used to in LR2), LR is copying them into a LR folder. So I looked at the options to change this, and it's supposed to come under File handling on the import...
