Focus point plug-in for LR 6

Yes, I think I had to reinstall it to get it to work on LR CC, but it does work.

why is slideshow is softer than preview in develop module?

Can anyone else reproduce this? I don't know if it's related to my retina screen, or if it's just a general bug.

why is slideshow is softer than preview in develop module?

I've been seeing something similar to this for a while, and it's still happening in LR CC/2015.1. If I create 1:1 previews, go into the develop module, and start an impromptu slideshow, it looks nice and sharp. If I make any changes at all in the develop module and again launch an impromptu...

    Jeffrey Friedl's plug-ins in Lightroom 5.6 - registration broken?

Agreed - I looked there first, didn't see anything, and shot him a message about it. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't still something wrong with my setup. Thanks for the confirmation. Rob

    Jeffrey Friedl's plug-ins in Lightroom 5.6 - registration broken?

I just updated to Lightroom 5.6 using the Creative Cloud app on OS X and I can't register any of Jeffrey's plug-ins. They all throw some form of this error message when I hit the "register" button: Assert Failed zenfolio#258 +5503.7: [x608002770ec8] @Registration line 1558: Assertion...

    Impromptu slideshow only works once

Yes, I think it's limited to the Impromptu Slideshow. It doesn't matter whether I use the shortcut or select it from the menu. Incidentally, I found that hitting "f" for fullscreen preview is just as good for what I need, so I'm less concerned about this. Still a bug. Rob

    Impromptu slideshow only works once

I usually use the Impromptu Slideshow feature while in the Develop module to preview my photos, but it's no longer working properly in 5.3 on OS X Mavericks. I can always start an impromptu slideshow once, but any time after that, I get a black screen for a while (10-15 seconds) and then it...

    Still no metadata search improvements?

That's a very manual process, and one that (I think) Smart Collections help automate. There's also a considerable amount of flexibility in the rules that you can set up to govern the contents of a Smart Collection that can't easily be replicated by selecting each attribute by hand. Smart...

    Still no metadata search improvements?

I'd love some sort of advanced query language, but a pick-list like in the Filter section would be effective and user friendly. It may be a challenge to integrate that into the Smart Collection creation dialog without some UI overhaul, though. It would definitely rescue the Smart Collection...

    Still no metadata search improvements?

That's unfortunate for a DAM- and keyword-centric product. I honestly don't see how the limited and inconsistent solution we have now is viewed as "good enough" by Adobe. I saw this: The Smart Collection criteria now has hierarchical menus. And was momentarily excited until it was clear...

    Still no metadata search improvements?

I keep hoping that we'll see some improvement in how keyword searches are done, but it seems like it (again) hasn't been touched for LR5. Has there been any improvement in the issues here that I haven't found yet?

    import as DNG or not?

From above: This seems curious to me. Mosaiced data typically has a single 12 or 14 bit value for each pixel (Bayer-filtered), and a demosaiced image will likely have 24 bits per pixel (interpolated RGB values). Unless additional compression is involved, under what circumstances would you...

    Thanks, Victoria. No hurry.

    More Tapatalk fun

Weird. I don't know why they think that you have it set to 'cookies' (my experience with multiple machines and browsers make me think 'database'), but the patch is in the thread that I posted above. They say that it fixes some issues around unread topic behavior. Thanks!
