Thanks for your very helpful suggestions. I’ll move that Previews folder to an external hard drive just to be safe and then delete it from my internal hard drive.
Many thanks!
Johan,
Here is the folder structure and those files inside end with lrprev. This is interesting because the original screen shot of my catalog posted to this forum on June 8, 2022 shows a Previews.lrdata folder of 7.2 GB.
Perhaps then, it would be okay to delete the 119.51 GB Previews folder...
Hi Johan,
Here's a screenshot of the huge file package contents. Does this look like the Mobile Downloads.lrdata folder? And is it okay if I rename it to the default name?
Thank you,
Phil
Thank you Johan. That's exactly what happened for my synced images. I just now reset the proper Sync folder in Preferences.
I will research that huge file, it likely is Mobile Downloads.lrdata file.
I moved that huge .lrdata file out of my catalog folder. Then restarted LrC and this warning came up right away. I selected the Show in Finder button which went to a Finder window but nothing helpful there. I then selected the yellow OK button and LrC started up and I was able to use it. However...
Thank you for the information Califdan. Wow, 'AI mask information", another huge file to deal with, hard to believe! I will likely move my catalog and all its associated files to an external SSD and operate LrC from the external drive.
It is an old file that begins with Phils…an old lrcat-wal...
LrC had to be force quit. I had selected Optimize Catalog but this hung up and would not work, thus the force quit. The screen grab shows the files left behind in my catalog folder (LrC is shut down). The .lrdata file at 119.51 GB, takes up almost half of my 251 GB Flash Storage on my MBPro. I...
Lightroom Version: Lightroom Classic latest version
Mac OSX Catalina
I’ve been having a related problem in that Lightroom Classic would not zip my ”lrcat“ file and would also include the ”lrcat-wal“ file in the backup. Just the other day I tried backing up the catalog but before doing so I...
Greetings Johan, indeed I do use the built-in catalog backup when quitting LR Classic. I am puzzled when the resulting backup includes the lrcat-wal file along with the lrcat backup. Neither file was zipped either. This behavior happens sporadically. I have older lrcat backups that were zipped...
Phil, thank you for your reply. Whenever I backup Lightroom it is via the Lightroom Quit dialogue. The backup that I made recently that included the lrcat-wal file was not zipped, so something is amiss. I will check my Time Machine settings to ascertain if that is the culprit.
Dear forum members,
I just backed up my catalog and it backed up the lrcat file (5.1 GB) okay. But it also backed up the lrcat-wal file (5.13 GB). This has happened before but doesn't happen consistently. Why would this happen and is there a way to prevent LR Classic from backing up the...
