i needed to import a bunch of photos from a new catalogue and when i did so, any watermark presets i had have be taken away. so when i export a photo, my previous watermarks are no longer an option :(
however, i still have the actual watermarks saved in a folder (lightroom settings /...
apparently, camera raw 7.0 (which is what i have on PS CS6) has the nikon d7000 (my camera) so is there really a need for me to update? seems to be a major pain as i DL'd the CR8 and ran everything, but it didn't install correctly or not at all (not sure).
am just trying out LR5 (which is zooming along for the most part) and when i try and edit a photo (NEF) in PS6, i'm getting a window saying 'the version blah blah requires PS camera raw plug-in 8.1 blah blah'.
is this an update i need to do on the LR side or on the PS side?
and how can i do...
so lightroom 5 is out BUT the major question is, how is the performance?
i'm still on 4.3 (64-bit) and the only hiccup i have noticed is when switching from library to develop, takes 10 seconds sometimes.
so how is the overall performance of LR 5 on your setup?
so i moved the catalogue and made the 'lightroom settings' folder in my catalogue folder which is good and explained in the above blog link.
BUT
i noticed that my watermarks did not follow.
i have found my watermarks in the appdata/roaming/adobe/lightroom folder but do not know where to put it...
just bought a new SSD and would like to move SOME of my photo folders to this SSD.
my concern is keeping the 'library' organized so that all meta data, exif info, keywords etc follow the move.
so, i will move some folders i am working on now to the much much faster SSD, work on them and get...
i had upgraded to 4.0 some time ago but found the performance to be terrible so i went back to the latest 3.x version.
now that 4.2 is out, i'm curious...
is the performance better and does it fully take advantage of all that extra RAM i have?
is 4.2 worth the upgrade?
i have recently discovered the adjustment brush and color fades (some is black and white while a area of focus is in color).
so what i do is this,
pick adjustment brush
turn down the saturation
then 'paint' all the areas i want to be black and white
i also do a bit of overlap with the area i...
after my personal experience i'm going to NOT recommend an upgrade to anyone, for the moment at least.
i've found the performance MUCH slower in 4.0 (even tried 4.1 RC2) when compared to 3.6.
maybe it will be better with 4.2 but until then, i'm sticking with 3.6.
so i just did a reinstall of LR 3.6 and things so far are very positive.
i'm using RAW photos from a nikon d7000.
loading photos in the library module takes 3 seconds MAX.
switching to develope takes 2 seconds.
going back to photos i've already looked at, is nearly instant, no more waiting.
if...
