"JPG and JPEG may represent two slightly different file types".
Wow, I didn't know that - in all my years in the photo business I had wrongly assumed that they were the same. Thanks for that and and the link to the "Image & Format Guide". I think I'll leave the files as they are!
I have a number of files within LR which have the suffix .jpeg and I want to rename them to .JPG. Because LR sees identically named files with .jpeg and .JPG as different files I want to clean things up and just have .JPG files. I've searched using Google but all the articles and YouTube videos...
I am running Lightroom Classic v10.2 on an iMac with Catalina 10.15.7. Everything was fine but today Lightroom is running really slowly. I have checked that I haven't got lots of other progs open but still it runs slowly. AFAIK the only thing I did yesterday was to setup iCloud Backup for my...
Fair point but I was thinking whether I could also use characters within the file name of my Fuji cameras. But when I play around with it it seems I can so it will probably be sufficient for my purposes. Thanks for your input.
For some reason LR has imported 2 copies of many files from my iPhone eg
I thought that using the Duplicates 2 plug-in would find them but alas it finds none even though all the metadata is obviously identical
I then thought that using wildcards might help...

But I am also faced with a number of sources such as displayed on the attachment such as:
Macintosh [email protected] plus a series of digits
I want to...
Johan you are a marvel! Exactly as you suggested and now it works perfectly! I wonder how many other people have tried and given up with this without ever realising that changing this setting solves it? And I wonder that Adobe don't give a hint about it somewhere. Anyway I am eternally grateful...
This link may help. I have copied my screen movements and have uploaded an MP4 file to my Dropbox account:
You will see how when I click on the image to paint in the colour, the first brush stroke works but...
I'll upload larger versions but when I did before it said they were too large! I've scrapped the first image I sent as I don't think it explains anything. As I try to add further brush strokes nothing happens - you can see the green circle where the brush touched but any further strokes results...
