Its amazing lightroom doesnt give a warning in that case! thats probably what I must have done.
I am indeed using a backup, altho its all pictures that have been corrupted so I'm starting with the backup
It seems that a whole folder hierarchy of photos somehow got selected and re-labelled :(
This covers 19000 photos that have ALL been selected as "Use" when only some are.
Is there anyway I can look to see what action caused them to be changed and when, as well as what the value was previously...
I'm interested in your workflow, as I find LR a bit cumbersome for initial stages, is it:
- import everything from camera to some folder structure
- use FastStone to cull and sort within the folder structure
- import the remainder of the folder structure into LR (into a seperate set of folders?)...
I have a workflow where I move all my rejected pictures to a single folder (AADeleted), from where I eventually delete them.
As you can imagine I do this quite a lot, and dragging from a folder that could be a long way away in the folder structure to this AADeleted folder can be slow, and a bit...
I organise my photos by folder as well as by keywords. Typically a named folder per days shooting.
I process the shoot by labelling and sometimes rating then delete those with no label. I have backup of the whole SD card after each shoot anyway.
However, sometimes I import into light room...
Thanks for your comments. I've read all the stuff about the use of keywords etc, but the reality is that I like a hierarchical for my main organisation, and keywords are not hierarchical.
So, I have, for example, the following folders:
Walks/Peak District/Walk - Edale - July15
Walks/Wales/Walk...
Having to use drag and drop to move files between folders is a bit too hard in my view.
You have to get the source folder selected, then select the files you want to move, then make the destination folder visible, and then drag and drop.
Use of Cut and Paste is so much easier (in Windows...
