Hello, I'm new to the group. Retired, amateur/hobbyist photographer; birding/nature and my kids' sports, mainly. Got into trail cam traps this year and now have three cams shooting the nighttime creatures in my woods. After years of amassing a rat's nest of 20k-or-so half-processed files I finally bore down and learned LRC and went about organizing my catalog recently. I found I actually enjoyed that process and I'm wondering if any photogs out there ever outsource mundane cataloging tasks like that? I'm retired and have time to spend on that sort of project and I know we all have our own rat's nests that we're not quite ready to deal with, so I'm curious if there are gigs like that around. Thanks and I appreciate being part of the community. John

Welcome to the forum! I know there are editing services, and lots of videos on organizing files, but I am not aware of many folks offering organization services, especially since there seem to be so many varied philosophies about what constitutes good organization.

There are Consultants who can be engaged to assist, but ultimately it needs to be your strategy for organizing your work. Although time-consuming, it can be really satisfying and a lovely trip down memory lane too!

Thank you. As a matter of fact I worked in the 90's in a TV production house that created "Legacy" videos as we called them. Now THAT was tedious! We literally pinned photos to a board and frame-grabbed them into a proprietary graphics device. My personal digital library goes back to 2004. It's the organization of a varied assortment of those media that I used this year to finally learn LrC catalog best practices. I do understand the point above that users will eventually find their own path that may be impractical to job out to a third party.
