I use LR Classic CC and have a good backup routine including offline copies of my ra originals and LR edits. I do not need LR Sync but cannot seem to stop it. it is too inconvenient, slowing down my pc a lot, especially when first starting up. I have gone into my Adobe account and deletd everything, but how can I stop it syncing again in future, please?

Switch it off in Preferences, don't switch in on again. Lots of other activities slow LR down, and sync is a minor one.

Yes, thank you - but there is no option to switch it off...

You do realise you have published your email address/Adobe ID for the world to see? Will not just pausing sync help? You can do that in the CC app.

Sorry, I did point you to the wrong place. You pause here:

Now, that is only "pausing" but Adobe might as well have used the word "stop". Not starting it again means there's no more syncing. Not using LrMobile for anything strikes me as cutting off your nose to spite your face, but it's your choice.

If you hit the resume button, sync will restart. If you want to make that harder, create a new empty catalogue and enable sync in it, then disable sync and never open it again. This means that if you enable sync in your main catalogue, LR will warn you that you already have a synced catalogue and make you jump through a couple of hoops.

That's clear. Thanks a lot!
