This is driving me crazy and I can't find an answer. I have 2400 images in a one folder on my disk drive that I'm importing into LR. I'm selecting that one folder in LR, importing, yet when I do import into LR there are only 2005 images available. So there are basically the best part of 400 images missing. Of several that I know haven't been imported I can manually select them and import them no problem but I can't do this to 400 of them as it would take me an age to work out which 400 are missing! All 2400 images are in just the one folder. Does anyone have any idea what's happening please as I've never had this issue before? Thanks.

You say that if you try to import all 2400 in one go from a single folder and it does all except 400. But if you select one of those remaining 400 individually, it imports just fine.

What I don't know is what mode you're using (add, move, copy, copy as DNG), Are all the images the same file type (what file type)? Were they from the same camera? I assume your "counts" are actual images and not "XMP" or other non-image file types.

Perhaps if you're using Move or Copy, the destination drive could be full after the first 2,000 were imported. but some temp files were deleted by LrC between the original import attempt and the subsequent 1 by 1 attempt (in some scenarios LrC may create a temp copy of the image).

If using Move or copy perhaps the destination folder already has an image with the same file name (doesn't explain that it works one by one though)

Maybe low in RAM, or temp disk space

Guys I've solved my problem! I have both JPEG and RAW files with the same file number in the folder so LR was only importing the RAW if it had the same file number as the JPEG so hence why 400 JPEG files were missing. I found that this boxed was unticked but now I've ticked it it's imported all my photos!
