It takes a long time, up to 5, once 10 minutes, to load from Lightroom Classic. Also sometimes it get stuck on the first splash page which shows recent photos that have been working on. If I close it I get a message "The file could not be edited because PS 2022 could not be launched. I choose "OK" and then the launch process starts all over again and then the work screen appears with the photo. The blue donut turns and turns and then I can work on my photo. Note that all this happens whether PS or LR have been updated recently by Adobe or not. Adobe has a big update this morning and nothing has changed. I have reinstalled the software, etc some weeks ago hoping that a reinstall would help.
How can I fix this behavior? It did this in Win 10 and now the same in Win 11. Thanks-

It sounds like a resource constraint.
  • How much memory do you have?
  • What else are you running at the same time?
  • Have you looked at task manager while this is occurring?

32 gigs
Only Lightroom, Chrome browser other than VPN, virus app, Malwarebytes.
Yes. No useful info that I am aware of. No limits on RAM approached or untoward disk usage.

Well, suggest so process of elmination. Shutdown everything including VPN, Virus App and Malwarbyes andd see what happens.

If RAM isn't an issue, see what your other resources are doing.

I shut down everything that is not Windows. Same behavior. Sometimes it opens appropriately but only after a long start up. Other software like Topaz, DXO open quickly from LR and PS. But PS shows the same behavior.

Does PS take as long to open on it's own if LrC is shutdown? If so try starting PS without them by holding SHIFT when you start it.

You may want to post in the Adobe PS Community Forum.
