Can't load LR Classic - aborts prematurely, have tried everything

Hello everyone, I am experiencing a new problem today - LR Classic begins to load, establishing a skeleton menu in the upper left corner of my Mac, but is stuck on the load screen ("Reading preferences ...") and hangs there until I quit, when I receive an "unexpected quit" message with a detailed code log. I have tried restarting, uninstalling and reloading, moving the preset files onto the desktop, Shift-Option double-clicking, etc. Same result each time. Any ideas? See attached for screenshots.

why would you do that? As far as I know Lightroom places presets in a specific location.
Did you make the move from within Lightroom or using your operating system?

Hello Denis, this was just a temporary move in line with the instructions in the link above for manually resetting preferences.

Problem appears to be solved! I upgraded from Big Sur to Monterey, Option-Shift-clicked Lightroom Classic to reset preferences, it fired up just fine and created a new catalog.
