20GB Photo Plan. I was expecting this to happen one day and is within my level of tolerance. $6 which is 5% for the annual plan. I'm wondering if this is Canada specific?

On November 19th. I was an early adopter and got it the year it was released. Here is the email.

It used to be $119.88 US annually.

No change in the UK (currently), still £9.98/month or £119.21 p.a.

Adobe might be punishing me for supporting them for the last 5 years on other forums. :)

I think that they are punishing you with the exchange rate they are using. I do not renew until sometime next spring, so unless they make an announcement or we hear from others, it is hard to say why you got an increase.

So sorry,

--Ken

For me it's been $119.88 US annually for the last 5 years. The exchange rate has been fluctuating in those past 5 years and I paid whatever the going exchange rate was each year plus the CND taxes. Taxes are calculated on the CND price, not US. The CND dollar is actually stronger that it was 3 years ago. The new US annual rate for me is now $125.97.

I got some information. I don’t fully understand it but is a how Adobe charges Canada and the US exchange rate. It has not always been $119.88. It has been fluctuating. Some years lower and some higher. I never really noticed as it just gets renewed via PayPal every year. I happened to notice the email said your price increased. I don’t recall seeing that before.

“Metric” Dollars (CDN). If Adobe charges the USD standard price, the CDN price will fluctuate But it also will include CDN taxes in addition to the exchange from the ~$120USD/yr.

Yes I’ve always been taxed based on the Canadian pricing after conversion. Pierre Trudeau gets to waste that part.

I'm in Canada as well and have had bad experiences with exchange rates via PayPal to the point I don't use them for US purchases anymore.

I’ll have to look into that. Thanks.

Actually I started to use PayPal because many years ago my credit card info got hacked at Adobe. After learning about at few months later sometime tried to purchase $500 worth of facial products using it. Could have been unrelated. Even while being careful a few years late on a new card someone in Tanzania tried to use it.

I don't really care as it's the banks problem not mine. I only worry about identify theft. It's a pain the *&^% because I have to call all the monthly auto pays I have set up. Since the few hackle we now have a designated card just for that which is not used for any other online purchases. We also have a dedicated online purchasing card.

Someone else from Canada who pays monthly said that Adobe switched from charging from US currency to CND in May.

Ironically enough, I just received an email from Adobe letting me know that they are now adding Premiere Rush and Photoshop Express to my plan (20GB Photography) at no charge.

No only “no charge” but “Your Creative Cloud plan remains the same price even with the addition of these applications.”

I renew annually in September so I guess I won’t see any price increase until 2022.

That will make the video crew happy.

Mobile apps.

The Photography plan already includes Photoshop mobile, so the question is indeed who needs/wants Photoshop Express. For now, the answer would be “iPhone users, because Photoshop Mobile only runs on iPad”, and Andoid users.

I have a friend who uses Photoshop Express on his iPad and when he logs into his Adobe account, Adobe is aware that he has a Photography Plan and allows him to use Premium features; such as the Selection Tool. We don't understand why Adobe would send the email to those who have a Photography Plan and thus already have access to the Premium features unless it is to entice people to use Photoshop Express and Premiere Rush.
