I'm hoping somebody can help me with a query.
I have a client that requires detailed captions and titles on supplied images.
In the past I've been using the Title and Caption fields located under the Metadata tab in the Library area of LR Classic. This has worked well.
I could highlight any number of images and bulk edit a caption and title onto as many images as I highlighted.
My issue now is when I highlight a number of images only the first image I clicked on will store the caption and title, despite multiple images being selected, just one will store the required information. This is a pain as I now need to individually copy and paste into each field on each photo as I edit, adding a considerable amount of time and fiddling.
I've mucked around as much as I can without any luck getting the bulk caption preference back, looking in the preferences tab and metadata fields, nothing seem to work.

Solution
At some point you probably turned on "Show metadata for target photo only" in the Metadata menu:

The other "gotcha" here is that to apply the same metadata to multiple selected images in one go, you also have to be in Grid view. If you are in Loupe view, only that single image is changed even if you have multiple images selected in the Filmstrip.

Thanks for that Jim, I'll keep that in mind for future use as well. Cheers
