I am tracking down missing photos. I must have deleted some of them previously but not in lightroom--rather from the hard drive they existed on but outside of LR. I still want to delete them but LR only gives me 4 options--remove photo, remove selected photo, remove photo from catalog, remove from LR. Does it matter which one I choose? Thanks in advance.

If the photo is already deleted from disk, then remove from catalog is all you need to do.
