Recently while trying to edit photos, every time I try to go to Photo/Edit in /Merge to Panorama in Photoshop or Merge to HDR Pro in Photoshop or Merge as Layers in Photoshop they are greyed out and won't work. Per suggestion in FAQ book I uninstalled LrC V10.4 and reinstalled it, to no avail. Uninstalled 10.4 and installed 10.3 with no change. Then Updated 10.3 to 10.4 and still have the same issue. Not sure what to try next? Rick

In the "Edit In" selection list, is the standard "Edit in Adobe Photoshop 2021" entry also greyed out, or only the bottom three entries? If they are all greyed out then is it possible you have selected smart previews (i.e. the originals are offline or missing and you are using smart previews for editing)?

If only the bottom three options on the list are greyed out, can you confirm that you have multiple images selected (those options would be greyed out if only one image is selected)?

OK I did only have 1 image selected. The top 3 lines are bold (Open in Adobe Photoshop 2021, Open in another application, and Open as a smart layer in Photoshop). I guess I didn't have a good understanding. I thought you had to open as layers so that when it opened you could make additional layers. Which line do I select with a single photo so I can add additional layers? Thanks a lot for your time. Rick

You need to wait until you get into Photoshop. There you can Add layers to any single layer image.

"Open as Layers" means open each of the selected photos as separate layers in one Photoshop document, which is why it's only available when multiple images are selected in LrC. Just use the top entry to get your single image into Photoshop, and as Cletus says you can add additional layers to the document there.
