Hi All
IPad OS 14.6
Nikon Z6 Mirrorless
When exporting a NEF in LR to IPad Camera Roll the resulting JPEG takes on a Magenta color cast.
Seems this was reported to Adobe about a year ago, but would seem still to be an issue.
A search here hasn’t resulted in anything???
thanks for any advice

What are you using the view the exported photo? Can you grab a screenshot of the photo in Lightroom and then again after so we can see the difference?

If I export a Z7 photo to the camera roll, and use the Photos app on the iPadPro to view it, it looks fine. Except for size there is no difference in the Z6 and Z7 NEFs. From this, I conclude the Lightroom app is working as specified and the Photos app is working as expected. I am running iPadOS 14.7.1 and Lightroom v6.31

Thanks Victoria

These are the two images. The one with the color cast is a screen grab of the exported image viewed in photos on the iPad.
The other is a screen grab from an Android phone.
Issues of note:
1. The exported JPeg retains the color cast no matter in what app it is viewed
2. The NEF as it is viewed in Edit in LR takes on the color cast following the export. This is permanent.
3. It seems the export process changes the color of the image in some way.
4. Only an issue on the iPad. Windows LR and Android LR are not impacted at all.
5. Only impacts Nikon Z 6 and Nikon 6 ii
6. Link to discussion on Adobe forum M: Magenta/Pink color cast when exporting raw images from Lightroom Desktop

Do you own and have you tested. Z6 or Z 6 ii ?

Is the iPad app definitely up to date? There was a bug but it was fixed a while ago.

Yes I update it each time a new update comes out. Incidentally another update has just arrived.
LR is also up to date on the iPad

If you want to send me one of the files, I'll try it on mine and see if I can reproduce it.

I do not own a Z6 but Nikon has no need to make the NEFs different from the Z7 that I own. Let’s see what Victoria comes up with from the Z6 file that you send.

Also I was very specific in the version I used for the Lightroom Mobile and iPadOS. Please look at my earlier post and see if your versions are an exact match.

So why is it that only the Z 6 NEF has the issue? My iPad and LR are running the latest versions of iOS and LR for iPad

Sorry for the delay getting to this. If you go to the profiles on desktop, what profile is selected? iOS seems to be missing some profiles that are available on the desktop version.

I'm using Adobe Color profile Victoria.
Appreciate your advice, no problem... when you can get to it is fine :)

If you go to the Profiles tab on your iPad, is the Adobe Color profile available for selection? On mine it's only offering Matrix.

I don’t seem to have a Profiles tab. Only option to apply a color profile I can find is in Settings, in Import, in RAW Default Setting only option is Adobe Default.

From memory, on an iPad the Profile Browser button is top of the Edit sliders. I can check in a bit if you can't find it.

Thanks for trying Victoria, best wishes
Hi, for what it’s worth, I have a Nikon D3100 and an iPad mini (current model) and was having this same exact magenta problem, except it was from Lightroom on my PC that the problem was exporting itself(to the cloud storage and then to the iPad).
Everything stopped since I’ve stopped using Lightroom on my PC for importing raws from my Nikon. I since switched to importing raw images directly into the iPad mini (and then to the cloud as I have the 1Tb photo plan), and I’m only using the PC to view images once in a while.

Thanks for your reply.
I’ve stopped using the iPad for editing.
Gone back to LRC on a new gaming laptop and am very pleased with the results
