I'm getting mixed messages. I'd like to try out and likely purchase the Photo package. I have 20K RAW files on my computer and hard drives. What I want to do is continue to edit on my Mac in 90% of situations. My specific questions are:
1. Am I correct in assuming if I download the trial package, it will not affect my current v6.1 at all? And is that true if I buy the new package? In other words, is it possible to have both LRClassic and LR6.1 usable at the same time, understanding that a new catalog will be generated for Classic? I read somewhere that the old version might be automatically updated.
2. The only time I would use LRCC is when traveling and shooting festivals and concerts. There are times I need to edit and publish photos from the road. Can I arrange to ONLY have the relatively few files I take on the road uploaded to CC, and then when I get home I can download them and store them on my computer? I'm not interested in paying for a large amount of cloud space when I likely don't need it at all.
3. When you start the subscription versions, as I understand it, an entirely new catalog is developed and it will include all the files currently in the old catalog regardless of their location (external hard drives, for instance). And I assume the old catalog is left as it was?
Thanks in advance.
