For 2 images, when I switch to the Develop module I get a file not found error.

BUT, there is no Exclamation mark to click on and find them.

AND, a reboot of LR does not work; nor does any of the following:

- attempting to import them again, or copies of them

- Library > Find All missing Photos

- moving the images to a different subfolder using Finder then trying to Import again

I presume the files are where they are supposed to be.
That being the case, they are possibly corrupt in some way.

HTHs

not corrupt as a friend can import them on his computer w/ his LR version

they include both jpg and raw Lumix G9 files (.RW2)

I have subsequently imported other photos into LR so the Import function still works

if I change the names in Finder (outside LR) they still cannot be imported from a different folder (sub-dir) nor from a USB stick nor from an SD card

Catalog optimise did nothing, not did rebooting LR and the entire computer

I also checked for any .xmp files left over from these images but there are none on the machine

New Catalog does not work either - still cannot Import the renamed files

every other program on my computer can access, display and edit these pics

Delete or rename the preferences file and see if that fixes it. LR will create a new (default) preferences file.

Post the Filename of one of the images.
Are there any characters in the filenames (or their Folder location) that Lightroom-Classic may identify as "illegal"?
