Can´t find info about what´s new in Lightroom Classic 10.1.1.......

It corrects an issue where if a file was missing Lens Metadata, the sync to the cloud stalled. This was the only change, hence a double-dot release.

UPDATE: I was finally able to sync ALL of my photos, even the ones that used to get stuck. The only files that won't sync now are those that are too large. Adobe put a limit of 200MB on the file size. Some of my panos and layered Photoshop files are bigger than that. So, I won't sync those. Otherwise, I'm happy with sync now. :)

I'm still currently on LR6 happily running on Mac Mojave 10.14.6. I am looking to go over to LR Classic but when I last looked a while back there were various 'issues' that made me decide to wait. Where could I get your opinions about the latest on LR Classic reliability please?

It seems Adobe has fixed a lot of issues over the past few months. I haven't experienced a crash in quite a while. Now that sync is working, I would call Lightroom stable. However, I'm on a Windows 10 PC, so I can't vouch for the Mac. But I do have a client using a recent iMac and he has not had any problems lately either, other than sometimes slow response due to the underpowered performance of iMacs in general.

They may have fixed some issues but since my upgrade to Mac 11 the slowdowns continues. I am running Big Sur and Lightroom 10.1 and after a short time of editing I want to scream it is so tortoise like. I've tried many of the things Adobe has suggested but to no avail, also called Apple and they sat it is an Adobe problem.

Today, with the sync fixes made in LR Classic v10.1.1, I dug deeper into my synced photos and now I'm confused about Adobe's file-size limits for syncing from Classic to the Cloud.

Adobe's "Lightroom Classic sync FAQ" web page says lists under the column "What does not sync" is "Files greater than 200 MB". But I have found hundreds of large photos in my catalog -- some panoramas are close to 400MB-- that have synced. Maybe this is something new and the web page hasn't been updated. Has anyone else noticed this change?

If you sync from Classic, only smart previews are uploaded. They're typically between 1 and 2MB, so no matter how big the original is, there shouldn't be any issue.

I perhaps should add that the information on the Adobe site is technically correct, though somewhat lacking in completeness. There are situations when Classic will attempt to upload an original file, which will indeed fail if that file is in excess of 200MB.

For example, because all my images in the cloud are originals, not smart previews, I have to make sure that all my >200MB images are colour-coded to warn me not to ever try saving to XMP for those large files. All such files are either Tiffs or Pano-DNGs, so a Ctrl+S will change the original file, which in turn causes an attempt to re-sync that full file, which results in a sync error.
