Save Metadata to File for DNG's does not clear the tag

Hi,

In some (not all) cases where I have a DNG file where LrC shows the down-arrow icon indicating that the metadata in LrC has changed and the change has not been copied to the file, when I click the icon (or use the menu to save metadata to file). The date/time shown in Windows/10 file manager is not updated and the icon in LrC does not clear. (LR.10.0)

1) Note "metadata in Lrc Has changed" icon

2) click icon circled above. Click "Save" in ensuing pop up box

3) Saving Metadata progress bar appears for a few seconds then goes away. However, the icon on the image remains and the date/time on the file in File manager does not update

The DNG metadata on some images is empty (just says unknown) , but on others with same problem it is filled in. Here is an example of one that is filled in

But, the metadata date in LrC gets updated

I've disabled all plugin's which didn't help?

Anyon seen this before or have any ideas as to what is going on? I'm stumped.

Thanks\. I thought I had seen something about it but couldn't find it (was searching for "Save Metadata" rather than "Saving metadata"

I had forgotten I filed that bug report and was going to suggest Dan submit one! Adobe has acknowledged it and filed an internal bug report against it.

Dan, I suggest you add your details to it. There have been a number of reports on the Adobe community forum about metadata not saving, or the indicator not updating, and I'm guessing that the recipe that I posted doesn't capture all the different ways that might be triggering the bug (or there may be multiple bugs).

That feedback forum migrated to a new platform from the company that purchased Getsatisfaction (the old platform), and its search is nearly useless. I use Google exclusively to search it, and I've bookmarked the following Google query:

searchterm lightroom site:feedback.photoshop.com

Just invoke the bookmark and then replace "searchterm" with your search keywords.
