I am bewildered by my cropping tool. I go to Tool/crop and then set it to 'custom' and unlock the little padlock symbol. Then I start dragging to the shape I want to crop to, and before I can see whether I am happy with the shape, Lightroom has gone ahead and cropped it for me. I am sure it means well but it's not what I want!! Now I think of it, other tools seem to be doing the same thing eg the graduated filter.
Is there some magic setting I need to reverse?? I am using Lightroom CC. Thanks for any advice.

It sounds like ;you are having trouble with your mouse. There isn't a Lightroom setting that would cause this. Try using a different mouse.

Thank you so much. I have tried a different mouse and Lightroom is now behaving as it should. I would never have identified that as the cause of the problem, so thank you very much indeed!

Check the driver for that first mouse.

Thanks for the suggestion. I can't seem to download a newer driver from the Logitech website - but not too worry as the problem is now solved by using a different mouse so I am happy to leave it at that.
