H all i i'v got lightroom 6 standalone on a mac i'v up graded to catalina os now lightroom 6 doesn't work an error 16 comes up. is it straight forward to put lightroom classic on my mac and does it keep all my photos that i had on lightroom 6? Also do i own lightroom 6 standalone program and could if put it on another compute.

Yes, it's very straightforward. It's just a case of signing up for the subscription, installing, then it'll ask the upgrade the catalog like earlier upgrades (LR5>LR6, etc.).

Yes, you could put your LR6 on another computer. The Classic catalog won't be compatible, but the software will work.

To clarify that statement, the LR6 installer is not 64 bit and won’t run on Catalina

Following up on Cleetis post you have two options if you want continue using LR.

1) drop back to Mac OS Mojave (I think that was the one prior to Catalina)

2) Get the rental version of LR ($9.99/mo paid annually)

If you opt for #2, then Victoria's statement is in effect. If you opt for option #1, LR6 should run fine.
