Lightroom Classic Migration deleting Lightroom Photos from my Albums!

Hello!

I am using the lastest version of Lightroom Classic as well as the newest version of Lightroom. My wife likes the classic version better but I prefer the molbility of the new Lightroom. I went through the steps to migrate her library in to my Lightroom (not classic) and I literally watched while photos began disappearing from MY Lightroom.?!?!?! I opened uip the app on my iPad Pro and they instantly disapeared. She has some of the same photos and has deleted them in the past. I assuming Lightroom thinks I no longer want these photos in my albums. Has anyone experienced this? Am I doing something wrong? I immediately stopped the migration but lost about 20 photos. My photos are backed up locally now but I'm not sure how that would help. Any ideas?

Hi Robert, welcome to the forum!

That is a very weird one, I've never heard of anything similar. When you say they were disappearing, was this in the desktop app while the migration was running, or just the iPad app? Which view were you looking at at the time? And do they show in the Deleted collection? Was this Classic catalog previously synced with the cloud? Are the photos completely gone, or gone from specific albums?

Thanks for the response. I was running this on my iMac Pro at the time. The catalog has never beened synced before. I was watching the total number of photos in My Lightroom (non classic) albums DECREASE. I immediately stopped the migration. I opened my iPad Pro (offline) and was able to verify which pictures had been deleted. As soon as I connected the iPad Pro to the network POOF they were gone. I really want to get this done because my wife does her editing in Classic and wants me to touch them up a bit while I travel. I really don't want the pictures being converted into jpeg in order to get this done (they are in arw now). Thanks again.

Hmmm! So they were "just" removed from specific albums rather than deleted entirely?

I don't suppose your album names matched any of her album names? It's certainly sounding like a bug rather than anything you're doing wrong.
