Some folders from one catalog did not move while others did. What could be the reason for this? Any ideas?

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum! Can you tell us more about what you did?

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum! Can you tell us more about what you did?

The catalog I wanted to merge into a Master catalog was located on a different hard drive. From File>Import from another catalog> I selected the target catalog (2018). Only a portion of the pictures came over. ( I have 2 folders in that catalog-2018 & 2019) The 2018 folder came over. I am getting an error message.
"Lightroom could not import this catalog because of an unknown error. " On the gray screen behind the error message box it says "No photos in Previous Import."

Do you know of anyone who I could hire to take me through this, ideally with a computer share set-up. I have been working on this for weeks and get get anywhere.

Yeah, Steve Bye is the guy that springs to mind www.stevebyetraining.com

Before you do so though, it doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. If you hold down Opt while opening LR, then select the 2018 catalog in the Select Catalog dialog and check Test Integrity, does it complete without errors? And where is that 2019 catalog stored at the moment?

Thank you. I will reach out to Steve if Adobe isn't able to fix it, assuming the catalog is in fact corrupted.

Oh brilliant, let's hope they're able to track down the problem and fix it for you. If it is corrupted, Adobe's your best bet, as it really doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong that Steve could correct.

Just a follow-up. The first catalog was "fixed" and returned, but same problem persisted. After more days, literally, with Adobe customer service, the new Master catalog has been referred to Sr. Technician to decorrupt. I'm told this will take 24-48 hours. Will let you know.

Let's hope he's able to fix it. We'll look forward to an update.

It looks hours and hours over multiple days with Sr. Techs to solve the problem. The good news I now have a master catalog complete with all images and edits. Though it took a lot of time, I am pleased with the consistent patient commitment the Sr. Techs had to solving the problem.
