  1. Windows 10
Creative Cloud informed me it had updated my LR Classic CC to the latest version ...which now shows 8.0 Build 1193777.
I was interested in trying the new sliders so I filtered a year of photos to show portraits only and then went into a few and found the new texture and other new sliders are not there.
Did I get a lame update?

The new version is 8.3, not 8.0 as you posted. Go to your CC App and try to do it manually.

Thanks Hal, But now I'm even more confused.
When I go to my CC app and under LR Classic check for Other Versions it shows cc 8.2.1 and cc(2015) 6.0.
No 8.3 at all and wondering why one from 2015 would still be showing up.

Now to me ...this is really weird ...
I just hit "open" on the 8.2.1 version and LR opened as
8.3 Release Camera Raw 11.3 Build [20190506 1635-edecdfdb and the new sliders are there now. So CC gave me the wrong information but delivered the right product??

Open the Control Panel, Programs and Features and see if you have both "Adobe Lightroom Classic CC" and "Adobe Lightroom Classic" installed.

Even more confusing is that my LR toolbar icon still opened 8.0, but the shortcut on my desktop opened 8.3.
I deleted the old toolbar shortcut and replaced it with the new one but find that pretty archaic in that I don't have to do that with other programs. Does that mean there may be a bunch of older versions taking up space on my hard drives and having registry entries and links to other programs etc. that could play havoc?. Beginning to wonder if that may be contributing to the enormous ram drain I have when running Adobe programs?

Jim ...you replied while I was trying things,
Here's my Adobe:
12570

Could opening from the desktop have triggered the removal of the old version?

I don't think just opening the correct version could have triggered the removal of the old version, the installation of the new version should have done that....so I'm at a loss to explain what happened. Maybe check the Adobe folder in the Program Files directory on your system drive to see if that old version of Adobe Lightroom Classic (it will have CC still at the end of the name) is still there.

Here's what's showing up there Jim:

12571

Adobe Lightroom contains folders for Resources, Support
Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 contains only a Plugins folder with only PSFilterPPLauncher64 in it.
Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5 contains only a Plugins folder with only PSFilterPPLauncher64 in it and also has a one line debug.log from 12/20/16
CC 2017 is an empty folder
CC 2019 appears to be the full course meal and the plugins folder in that one has only an empty Generator folder

OK, well there's no evidence of that rogue 8.0 installation anywhere, so presumably it has been deleted.

Check the Process Version of the selected image. If you try this with an old image that is still PV1 or PV2, then you won’t see the new sliders.
