I am having a little trouble with a Canon Lens Profile for my 18-135 mm EFS. Just back with about 1,000 photos from a trip and find that about 1% of them in Develop module refuse to automatically insert the appropriate lens profile. Worse still, when I then click on “None” and choose Canon, Adobe does not list the 18-135 Canon lens as a choice that is normally automatically inserted. How can I insert the correct profile that I know is in the Adobe listings because 99% of the time it is chosen by LightRoom?

Are those images JPEG instead of raw? If i remember correctly, most of the lens profiles are for raw files only.

They are all RAW. I convert the originals, after saving to HD, to DNG in Lightroom. Thank you!

You spotted the problem Hal. I rechecked and the ones causing trouble were HDR's generated in camera in SCN mode of the Canon 70D, so they were JPEG's. My apologies. Now, do these images need lens distortion correction, or has that been done in camera?

Interesting that you ask this. Lens corrections are needed to correct visual distortions. Invisible distortions don't need to be corrected, because they are invisible anyway. If you can't see if lens corrections are needed, then they answer is probably that they are not needed...
