Thanks for the new free eBook. But I have question. I note you recommend transferring the various files before installing Light Classic CC. However, I think some folders or folder paths won’t exit until after you install Lightroom. For example the Lightroom folder in this case:

Mac Default—Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Pictures / Lightroom / Lightroom Catalog.lrcat

Or the Adobe/Lightroom/ folder in this case:

Mac—Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / Lightroom /

Perhaps I’m missing something?
Thanks.

When Lightroom is installed it will want to create certain folders (and files). However, if the folders already exist, LR will not create new ones but use the existing folders and files.

Thanks. So, do you think it is better to install Lightroom first, before migrating, so that the file structure is already in place?

I'd follow Victoria's instructions. Installing LR for a clean install, also creates a new empty catalog file. You already have a catalog file (probably with the same default name). This "new empty catalog file" confuses some people.

I debated this both ways, and Clee is spot on, it's the new empty catalog and default preset folders that made me decide to put the file transfer first. As long as you're aware, it doesn't make a vast amount of difference either way.

Thank you, Victoria.
