Is there any way to get my Map function to work in Lightroom after DEC 1, 2018? Like a javascript edit or going back to 6.13?
It appears that Adobe has removed the function from older versions but I was not informed of this change and do not know what
I can do to get this very important function working. Note: Upgrading with monthly fees is not an option for me.

Here are your choices:
1. Use a 6.X version of Adobe Lr without the map module. Google removed support of the API which Adobe used in the earlier released map modules.
2. Join the subscription model of Adobe Lr.
3. Try a third party add-on like Jeffrey's "Geoencoding Support" Plugin for Lightroom and see if it meets your requirements.
4. Switch to an alternate solution away from LightRoom

To be clear, this change was forced on Adobe by Google's change.

Take a look at HoudahGeo (Mac-limited). It lets you drag and drop to assign GPS values.

Easy peasy. If I want the location in Google Maps I copy the GPS data from the Metadata in Lightroom for a particular image into Google Maps and wala up comes a red pin showing the exact location. I am hoping that Luminar will eventually have a map module. Then I can say goodbye to Adobe forever.

Don't bet on it!

To see a location in Google Maps, just Alt /Opt click the little arrow to the right of the GPS field. Or on Mac Cmd+ALT+Shift click to go to OpenStreetMap. No need to cut and paste.

Do you see a map in the main window of the map module and can you drag an image into the map ?
No : You need to use the Geoencoding Plugin, which opens Google Maps and allows you to import the map references. Once the Map reference is established in the metadata you can use johnbeardy's route ( above ) to open and show the location in Google Maps. I'm afraid we have lost the drag and drop option in Lightroom Six. Not sure if it exists in the latter versions ~ I'm not up for the subscription route at this time

Yes it exists in the latest versions. Adobe during one of the 7.X releases updated to the new Google API.

Thanks for that tip. Will pass it on to my club members who still have LR6.
