Today's the first day using Lightroom on my new iMac following the demise of my PC at New Year. For various reasons the changeover has not been easy but I am getting there. Having loaded up the latest catalog, I had the inevitable problem of missing images but I think most have been located and have synced up although a few individual images are refusing to sync. I'll probably end up deleting and reimporting if there are not too many. Anyhow, I now have the first issue.

I have noticed that a good number - possibly all, I've not checked yet - of pictures on which I had used the Transform tool in Develop prior to cropping, have lost their transform settings and are lopsided again. When I check in the Transform panel, the guidelines are present but no longer line up with the image (ie the guidelines are correctly at right angles but the underlying image is crooked). I'd corrected a few manually before I realised there was a recurrent problem. Grateful any advice.

Many thanks.

Well, since you are starting a new instance of LR, I assume you copied over only the catalogue, and not the previews built by LR. Is it correct?
If so, well, it will only take time before the "right" previews are built from the catalogue or the .xmp files.

Good luck!

No, that is probably not the correct answer. If you read the message, it says that the transform guides are straight, but the underlying image is crooked. That means that the OP is looking at the image in the develop module, so this has nothing to do with previews that have not yet been rebuilt.

I'm not sure why this has happened (it should not have happened), but what you may have to do is press the 'Update' button in the Transform panel.

Many thanks for the replies. I did copy over the the preview file as well.

I have had a couple of recurrences of this and I guess I may find more as I go through my catalogs. I am still finding missing files so I've quite a bit of checking to do to make sure everything is ok. It's a bit annoying as I was careful to copy over my Lightroom Archive in one lump and hoped everything would sync back once I told it where to look. If the transform problem happens again I will certainly try the Update button which I'd not spotted.

I've also had a bit of a problem with the orientation of a few iPhone pics which were ok on the old PC. They are either just rotated round the wrong way or, in one extreme case, a portrait orientation picture was displayed as landscape but not rotated just stretched to fit! - if that makes sense? I hope I am not looking at a reinstall. :(
