(Please go to Help menu > System Info to double check the exact version number)

Question or Description of Problem: In the personal Settings we are asked to state which version of Lightroom we are using. We now have both LR Classic and LR CC and am sure many users will be using BOTH from now on. However we can only select one in the settings option.

Since we've now split the forums out by the version and added the thread template, I'm wondering if it's time to remove that field or stop it being required. Interested in others thoughts on that. Otherwise for now, pick the one you use most.

As most people don't remember to update it, maybe it's time to remove it completely.

I would be interested in the ability to specify which forums are searched when I click on the NEW POSTS button. Also the ability to ignore any new posts on a given thread.

The information is often old anyway, and they have to be asked. I find the OS often more useful (and more stable, at least Mac vs Windows as people rarely switch).

If you wanted to make the info more useful, a popup every 3-6 months that said "please confirm this information" might be helpful? Not sure if that's viable in the forum software (and not sure how many people will be annoyed by it).

I think the template is very necessary. Though often if the topic does not nee the template info, the poster will leave it blank. You might insert additional info the these three lines can be deleted IF not related to the OPs issue.

Good thinking. I’ll look at removing the field tomorrow, unless anyone disagrees. I think it’s time has passed.

I can’t find a way to do either

I did disagree. And offered a suggestion to keep the template and streamline the contents of the initial post.

This post is an example of why I think the template is still needed

Sorry Clee, are we talking at cross-purposes? I'm talking about removing the profile field that no one updates. I agree we should keep the template.

I guess we are. By templates, I thought you meant the three suggested fields in the body of the post. I agree the LR Classic/LRCC profile field doesn’t make much sense if you are a subscriber to the latest plan. The three suggested fields in the body of the post clutter the post and are more often ignored completely. Most posters don’t seem to realize the these fields can be deleted for better reading. If possible, I would like the LR version to be in a prefix drop down in the Title of a new topic and mandatory if possible.

Ok, let me stick them on my to do list Clee. We've got module there at the moment... are you thinking of in the LR1-6 forum?

Suggestion for Personal Detail content, item "Camera". Assuming this item is of interest to some folks, perhaps one should consider adding the most common smartphone cameras such as iphone, Samsung, etc. I imagine most LR users are frequent or professional photographer's and therefor use cameras other than smart phones. Then again, perhaps that trend may change as smart phone cameras evolve.
