I would like to install Lr 2015.3/6.3 but I get error code U44M2P28 when I follow the link in Victoria's blog post. To get around this, the instructions from Victoria's blog are to uninstall Lr, then install Lr 6.0, then install Lr 6.3. QUESTION 1: How do I UNINSTALL Lightroom? (I'm hoping that once I've done that, that then I'll be able to follow links in the blog to Install 6.0, then 6.3). Thank you...

In your Applications folder is an Adobe Lightroom folder. In that folder is the Lightroom app and an uninstaller.

Welcome to the forum. On a Mac, you drag the app to the trash. If you are running a LR as the subscription plan, you can use the Adobe CC Application Manager app to uninstall LRCC
As for your error code, this link will be helpful #2

Normally yes, but AFAIK you should not do that with Lightroom 6, because it may create problems when you want to reinstall it later. Use the Uninstaller. It's there for a reason.

I've done it both ways and so far I've not had a problem with LR. I did not realize there was also an uninstall app in the folder for LR6.

Thank you, all for the Uninstall instructions. Now, can anyone calm my fears that I'm not going to create an even worse problem - Uninstall seems so drastic! What happens to all the images and the library until (AND if) I get Lr 2015.3/6.3 installed? Thanks, Chicken Heart...

The uninstall removes the application related files. YOUR data files that you created remain where they are ready for the next install of the LR app. If you upgraded from LR4 to LR5, the upgrade deleted the LR4 app files and installed the LR5 app files. The same thing happened when you went from LR5 to LR6. This was done automatically when you pressed the upgrade install button. Since for you, this is not an automated process. You need to do each step manually. LR6.0 is a full install. Lr6.2 and LR6.3 are Patches to LR6.0 that require LR6.0 to be installed first.

The error code error U44M2P28 says that your previous update was a patch and it failed :
Explanations of error codes:
U = Updater
44 = Install Update Error
M1 = Automatic
M2 = Stand-alone mode
P = Patcher
6 = Done With Errors*
7 = Installation Failed*

You may need to make some corrections to the App Manager installation files before the next install will succeed. I haven't found a reason code "8" but 6&7 are listed above.

The steps that you may need to take are found at this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-u44m1p7-installing-updates-ccm.html?PID=7221644

Uninstall seems so drastic!

It really isn't. Your images and catalog are completely unaffected, so the process is really simple: uninstall Lightroom using the uninstall app that you'll find in the "Adobe Lightroom" sub-folder in your Applications folder. Then proceed as directed to download and install 6.0, followed by the 6.3 update.
