I’ve had a number of emails in the last couple of days asking if there’s a free update to my version 2 book as Lightroom is now at version 2.2, so let me take this opportunity to clarify… So far, the Lightroom 2.1 and 2.2 program updates have only fixed bugs and added cameras, and… Click to continue
Why do my photos look different in Photoshop?
Excerpt from Adobe Lightroom 2 – The Missing FAQ Usually a mismatch in colors is due to either incorrect color profile settings or a corrupted monitor profile. For example, a ProPhoto RGB photo mistakenly rendered as sRGB will display as desaturated and flat. This is a ProPhoto RGB photo correctly displayed as ProPhoto RGB: This… Click to continue

Corrupted monitor profile
There’s an updated Lightroom 4 version of these instructions in the Knowledgebase. A corrupted monitor profile is often to blame for Lightroom preview issues, whether that be a mismatch in colours between programs, or simply blank grey previews. Lightroom uses the profile differently to other programs (perceptual rendering rather than relative colorimetric), so corruption… Click to continue

Are Adobe saying that you have to upgrade to CS4 in order to use… Click to continue
I have a long list of folders – can I change it to show the folder hierarchy?
There’s an updated Lightroom 4 version of these instructions in the Knowledgebase. Extract from Adobe Lightroom 2 – The Missing FAQ Yes, in fact it’s a very good idea to do so, and just have one or two top level folders. If Lightroom ever loses track of all of your photos, perhaps as a result… Click to continue
Why do my photos change color? Also known as ‘Why did Lightroom mess up my photos?’
Extract from Adobe Lightroom 2 – The Missing FAQ When the first preview appears, it looks just like it did on the camera, and then that disappears and it applies other settings. How do I turn that off? The initial preview you’re seeing is the JPEG preview embedded in the file by the camera. That… Click to continue
