I’m pleased to officially announce the release of Adobe Lightroom 5 – The Missing FAQ.
This is a slightly belated blog post – I know many of you have already finished reading it! The PDF has been available for a week, and the other formats are now available too. The early reviews have been great!
Gene McCullagh was one of the first to see the new book, saying “If you purchase only one Lightroom book make it this one.”
Lito sent me an email saying “You are a wizard, five minutes after I downloaded the new book in PDF format I found the answers to a couple of questions that had been bothering me for a week or so ever since I upgraded to Lr5.”
Paul’s tweet said “This book is the best Lightroom book, ever!!”
Derek said “Had a MAJOR catastrophy yesterday […] First stop the Scott Kelby LR4 book…..no help….. […] I’d just bought Victoria’s new Lightroom 5 ‘Missing Manual’ and it helped a lot! […] I heartily recommend her new book and its really inexpensive for the PDF version.”
Andrew @ Lightroom Love said “Victoria has penned the book that I will use when I’m searching for the details that I need to deliver high quality images to my clients. Victoria, thanks for this book and the work that you do. As a fellow Lightroom instructor, I’m thrilled with how much I’ve learned from this book.”
Jack Larson sent me a note on Facebook, saying “Victoria’s previous LR books have been far and away the most useful of all of those available. And her personal support is beyond amazing. That personal support is easily worth the price of the bundle.”
Laura Shoe reviewed it and finished with the words “Finally, I reveal my secret — when I get a question about Lightroom that I can’t answer, I turn to Victoria’s Adobe Lightroom 5 – The Missing FAQ!” (and I have to add, Laura’s videos are great too – I can’t wait to watch her latest ones!)
Peter Krogh, of the The DAM Book fame (great book!!) said “Even though I know the program extremely well, I find the book to be invaluable when I have a question about the definitive behavior of some tool I don’t use all the time.”
It got a mention on Sean McCormack’s Lightroom Blog too, saying “It ranges from things like how tools work, to fixes for common problems and even things like catalog corruption.”
And there have been many more tweets, Facebook posts and emails besides. All I can say is thank you very very much for your kind words. You guys make it worth all the late nights and early mornings.
I’m pleased to say I now have the paperback in my hands, so any preorders will ship direct from the printers in the next couple of days, along with any new orders. Amazon.com already have the book in stock, and the other Amazon stores should have stocks shortly.
The ePub/Kindle formats are also now available – if you preordered the Lightroom 5 book, you can use your previous download link or the Members Area to download them now. Any future Lightroom 5 eBook bundle or paperback bundle orders will receive them automatically.
Upgrade discounts went out by email to previous book owners on Sunday a week ago, so if you missed yours, please check your spam folder, or email me to get your personal code. On the table of contents page there’s a list of all of the questions that are new or have been updated since the release of the Lightroom 4 book.
I need to ask one last favour… new users won’t be able to find the book on Amazon until it’s got some great reviews and starts climbing the rankings. If you enjoy the book, I’d really appreciate you posting a short review on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk or your other favourite bookstores. Your past reviews have been lovely, and your support allows me to carry on freely giving my time to people who need help by email and on the forums, so thank you very much.
I’m off on holiday on Thursday for a couple of weeks. I’m going to a little English village on the Isle of Wight, to catch up on all the sleep I’ve missed over the last few months, and give Charlie the attention every puppy needs. I won’t have internet access, except in emergencies, but my friend Lisa will be looking after book registrations and orders while I’m away, and the guys at Lightroom Forums will be pleased to help with any Lightroom issues. I look forward to catching up with all your emails and forum posts when I get back. In the meantime, please go and buy my book! 🙂
Victoria, huge congratulations on the book launch – you know I’ve been enjoying it. If you’re thinking of buying the book… stop the thinking and purchase it. Today. You’ll love it.
