The Download Link
Once you’ve placed your order, or you’ve emailed me to ask for the free eBooks after buying the paperback from another site, you’ll receive an email with a download link.
The email will give your login details (username/password) for the Members Area. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll see the files that are available for download.
The first download link, directly under the photo of the book, is a ZIP file containing all available formats.
If you scroll down further, there are separate download links for each of the eBook formats, which are useful if you’re downloading the files on an iPad.
Click where it says “Download” and your browser should ask you where to save the file. Save it somewhere safe!
Opening the Downloaded ZIP File
Once the ZIP file has finished downloading, double click to open it so that you can see the files inside. At the time of writing, there are 3 files in the Lightroom 4 version:
- AdobeLightroom4MissingFAQ270312.pdf – is the primary PDF format
- ALTMF4-100412.epub – is the ePub format
- ALTMF4-100412.mobi – is the Kindle format
If you’re reading on a computer, the PDF format will be your best option, but the other formats are optimized for devices such as eReaders and mobile phones. If you’re not sure which format you need to use, check the Book Formats page for more details.
Finally, if you want to read the book on an eReader or other mobile device, you’ll need to copy the file to the device. I’ve covered the most popular devices on the following pages, but your instruction manual should give details on transferring files to your device if you’re unsure.
