A few weeks ago, my new Lightroom Help Desk & Members Area quietly went live for final beta testing, and some brave souls have already been exploring and finding bugs for me to fix. Today I’m pleased to announce I’m taking the beta tag off, and it’s officially LIVE!
There’s a welcome page with a lot of additional information, and further pages on how to use the new site, so I won’t repeat everything here, but here’s the summary:
- Everyone can access the public section of the knowledgebase. It contains the most frequently asked Lightroom questions and other useful information, indexed by topic and fully searchable. You’re welcome to link to those articles. Many are extracts from Adobe Lightroom 4 – The Missing FAQ, and some have featured as blog posts in the past, but in this format they’re easier to find and use as a reference.
- There’s also a premium knowledgebase, which is only for those who own my Lightroom 4 book. It includes the entire book in a searchable format, and I’ll be adding further information over the course of time.
- There’s a new ticket system so you can easily talk to me. I get hundreds of emails every day and I love hearing from you. This will help me keep track of our conversations so I can serve you better.
- There are further features planned, and I’d love to hear your ideas and suggestions too.
You can access it from the links in this blog post, or there are links on the menubar of my main Lightroom Queen website too. The Members link takes you to the Help Desk home page, and the Knowledgebase link above takes you directly to the Lightroom 4 Public Knowledgebase. Feel free to explore, and read the welcome page too. If you already own my Lightroom 4 book and you haven’t registered it yet, make sure you do so in order to get access to the Premium Members Area too.
While you’re busy investigating the new Help Desk, I’m taking the opportunity for a short break. For the first time in 8 years, I’m taking 3 weeks off to rest and recharge my batteries – and maybe even get out to shoot some pictures for a change! I will drop into the office to check book registrations/orders and Premium emails/tickets at least once a day, but please bear with me if I take a little longer than usual to respond. I won’t be on the forums during my break, but we have a brilliant team of Lightroom Gurus who will be pleased to help. See you in a few weeks!
