0kb Lightroom exports? Dropbox are on to it

There’s been a sudden flurry of reports about Lightroom Export creating 0kb files when exporting to a Dropbox folder.

The cause is very simple – Lightroom creates a placeholder while exporting, and Dropbox is now grabbing those 0kb placeholders to sync them.

Dropbox are aware of the issue and I’ve heard they’re working on a fix. Great customer service as always!

The workaround for the moment is to pause Dropbox sync while you’re exporting from Lightroom, or to export to another location and then move the exported files into your Dropbox folder.

Update 12 March – Dropbox now have a new beta build on their forums
