"Being part of the NAPP Help Desk team, I’m very familiar with the types of questions frequently asked by Lightroom users, and I have to tell you that Victoria has solid answers for all of them. If you’ve ever had a question about some Lightroom quirk, error message, or just how to do something that isn’t as intuitive as it could be, I’d wager it’s explained in a straightforward manner inside this book. The real strength of this book though is the fact that it was originally developed as an eBook (PDF format) to facilitate quick-and-easy searches of its contents right from your workstation. You can purchase the eBook alone (which is cheaper) or purchase the printed version and get the eBook for free. Head over to lightroomqueen.com for the best price and all the answers to your questions." – 5 stars – Rob Sylvan, Photoshop User Magazine, April 2009"
"Most seasoned Internet users are familiar with the idea of FAQs. A FAQ page on a website strives to answer customers’ Frequently Asked Questions. Many times, those FAQs are simply reverse-engineered marketing ploys for a company’s product, but not this time. Victoria Bampton, aka “The Lightroom Queen,” has produced a straight-to-the-point, reasonably-priced book answering the most pressing and important questions about Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. [...] My final advice is to buy this book. As a seasoned Lightroom user and instructor, I found answers to questions that I didn’t know right along with answers to questions that I hear from Lightroom beginners over and over. I feel confident in saying that you, too, will find answers to question you have!" - Scott Rouse, TheLightroomLab.com
"Well, I've read every word of it, and it's excellent work. Really, nobody working with LR should be without a copy of this resource. Difficult concepts clearly and simply explained." - Brad Snyder, LR Guru
"When I first heard there was an FAQ about Lightroom in the works, I had my doubts. I have seen too many books that claimed to be Frequently Asked Questions that were in fact a collection of tips reverse-engineered into a question format. As a Lightroom author myself I spend a share of my time in the Adobe Lightroom User-to-User forum answering questions all the while trying to get a feel for the kinds of questions people have about Lightroom so I can ensure the topic is covered in my book.
I always thought it would be great if someone would distill all of the questions that are posted along with the correct answers and organize them into a book. This is exactly what the author has done. She has managed to collect and organize them into a single document. These real questions that are actually asked frequently (what a concept) are organized in such a way as to be easy to find.
I cannot recommend this work highly enough. I just finished a 300+ page book on Lightroom 2 and I still find myself going though my copy of her book to refresh my memory on how something is supposed to work. - Dave Huss, LR Author"
"This is the guide that should have shipped with Lightroom.
Whether you are an experienced or casual user of Lightroom, this book will show details of items and technical issues that you may not even know you were missing.
"For those that are looking for a specific 'how to', they should find the well thought out structure and examples well worth the read. The book organization is such that the experienced user can easily skip those sections that are familiar, although you may miss some nuggets if you skip too fast.
"Whether it is backups, restores, catalogs, managing photos, or handling multiple computers, the one other thing that stuck out to me was the operational suggestions through the book that could save money and prevent disasters" - Don Parrott
"I've just purchased your book... I'm finding it really helpful. I had previously read Scott Kelby's book, and whilst I think it's good, the areas that were only touched on and not really discussed (Preview Rendering, XMP, how the catalog works etc) mean that I have a good understanding of functional overview, but not the deeper knowledge of the software that allows me to tailor the program to the way I work. Your book definitely addresses this for me." - Jason Fraser
I am proud and happy to say that I have two personal friends who are deeply involved with PhotoShop and Lightroom. The first lectures over 300 days a year on PhotoShop and Lightroom, the other helped develop the software and is listed on the masthead as you open the program. I use Lightroom several hours a day in my business. When I have a sticking point in Lightroom, I turn to Victoria's book! This is the most straight forward, easy to understand source for a wonderfully complex yet simple program. Victoria's web site [...] has in turn been my source for specific problems and relevant sources. Buy this book! - Bill Keane
